A Chazverse cinematic fantasy
Enter the history behind Dragons of the Ember Fire—a world of wounded dragons, sacred bonds, desperate choices, and a darkness waiting for its moment.
The history of the covenant
This is the world as it stands when the story begins. What follows belongs to Aria—and to the fire waiting beneath history.
Chapter I
Long ago, after the Dragon Wars and the defeat of Takhisis, Krynn expected peace. Instead, something began to break inside the surviving dragons. Their minds fractured. Creatures once capable of wisdom and loyalty became unpredictable, violent, and afraid.
Chapter II
Women stepped forward to stand beside the dragons. They did not conquer them. They formed bonds with them—mind to mind, spirit to spirit—and forged a covenant strong enough to quiet the madness.
Chapter III
At the covenant's center stood the Golden Maiden, mother figure to the order and the living heart of its magic. Through her, the maidens and dragons were joined. The dragons' minds mended, and for a time, the pact held.
Chapter IV
When Chaos threatened Krynn, the maidens and dragons reluctantly entered the war. Together they helped drive it back—but victory demanded a terrible price. Dragons died. Maidens fell. The covenant survived, but it was weakened.
Chapter V
Dragons whose maidens had perished began slipping into madness again. Villages burned. Fear spread across the kingdoms. The surviving maidens searched desperately for a way to save both the dragons and the people endangered by them.
Chapter VI
Into that desperation came Morta. He carried the ancient dragon orbs and promised what the maidens needed most: an end to the madness and a way to bring the dragons under control. But the orbs were no longer what history remembered. Morta had altered them, and their true purpose remained hidden.
Chapter VII
With wild dragons attacking and innocent lives being lost, the Dragon Maidens accepted Morta's gift. They took the orbs into their hands, believing they could preserve the covenant and restore peace to Krynn.
Years later, Aria—a former Dragon Maiden and veteran fire sorceress—has left war behind. Then Morta's shadow armies and corrupted Dragon Maidens descend upon her village. This is where the story begins.
